Well said and thank you. Why not attack problems instead of people (or parties)--look for solutions instead of scapegoats? It's time for all of us to re-examine our assumptions, values, and practices--maybe even reinvent the American dream.

Wow I would just like to say kudos to Bill...I think I maybe agree 100%. And also wanted to say I respected and enjoyed Aaron's comment in the last post as well.

I'm still reading, even though I've been quiet! And I love you Lauren and just wanted to speak up a little... I am always all about keeping the love, that is where my beliefs stem from and why I seek justice for all people, even when I can't relate to them.

Anyway, have a good day! Time is winding down!

Agreed. People need to realize both parties suck. Both parties feed on common rallying points to muster support (i.e. gay marriage, health care, abortion, taxes, gun control) to keep themselves in office basically so they can serve the interests of their donors and special interests groups. Which makes this govt more of a corporate welfare than anything.

For instance, I read an article which I will try to find if you want to read, written by the Institute for American Enterprise, they explained how if you wipe away the partisan views of both Bush and Hilary Clinton and just looked at their general views on the nation and foreign policy stances, they are essentially the same.

The main problem that has this country so divided is the divide itself; the two party system has failed us. We need to break both parties up or unify them. Then maybe we can get some real stuff done and fix these problems.

And the only thing I wish to say about gay marriage is its fine to be against it or not believe it but the govt should have no say in the matter. The federal govt should not have any law imposing any view on it. The govt really should have one essential job and that's maintaining freedom and liberty to all individuals. The only time the govt should step in is if one's liberty is being impeded by another's actions.

Kind of like the Red Sox and Yankees fans. Except the Red Sox fans are a lot more rude and violent.
